Eagle Project
At the suggestion of the local town council, I took on the project of building a handicap access ramp and deck for an 1865 schoolhouse that they were converting into a museum for my Eagle Project. The ramp and deck would replace the existing (and non-code abiding) deck. Construction took one weekend excluding digging the piling, pouring the cement, and detail touch up work. When the ramp was completed, the task of painting it was added. One coat of white primer, and two coats of a green that matched the schoolhouse and two coats of an off-white went into painting the ramp, as well as many additional hours of work. The total amount of man hours that went into this project totaled over 400 hours. Thanks goes out to all those that helped me and the town with this project. I officially got my Eagle on January 16, 2004 after it passed through all of the paperwork at the national Boy Scout council.
